دکتر سید اسداله لقمان پور یک پزشک و جراح چشم و متخصص چشم و گوش و حلق و بینی قرن بیستم ایران بود که چندین سال از عمر خود را وقف درمان بیمارانی کرد که فقیر بودند و توانایی پرداخت پزشک را نداشتند. دکتر لقمان پور چندین بیمارستان در مناطق دوردست ایران که خدمات پزشکی در دسترس نبود بنیان گذاری کرد و تمام وسایل لازم و کادر پزشکی لازم را فراهم آورد. مانند پدرش که یک پزشک بود دکتر لقمان پور بیشتر عمرش را به خدمت به افراد بی بضاعت وقف کرد
Doctor Seyed Asadolah Loghmanpour was a prominent Iranian physician of the 20th century, an eye surgeon and ear-nose-throat (ENT) specialist who dedicated most of his medical career to providing care to patients who could not otherwise afford to visit clinics or doctors. He founded several hospitals in Iran’s rural areas where medical services were non-existent.

دکتر لقمان پور در سال ۱۹۱۲ میلادی (۱۲۹۱ هجری شمسی) در شهر اصفهان چشم به جهان گشود. اسم پدرش سید علی و مادرش مریم بود. او فرزند چهارم بود و ۵ برادر و یک خواهر داشت. پدرش که یک پزشک معروف و محترمی در اصفهان بود برای او یک راهنما بود و میخواست دنبال راه او برود. سید اسداله اغلب به مطب پدرش میرفت که طبابت یاد بگیرد. در سن ۱۲ سالگی سید اسداله به تهران آمد تا در بهترین دبیرستان ایران به نام دارلفنون تحصیل کند. هدف اصلی سید اسداله این بود که یک روز مثل پدرش پزشک بشود
در تهران با یک دوست خانوادگی زندگی میکرد و پدرش خرج زندگی او را میداد. سید اسداله در ضمن اینکه به دارالفنون میرفت به کلاس دارو سازی هم میرفت. بعد از گرفتن دیپلم دبیرستان در امتحان کنکور دانشگاه شرکت کرد و در اولین دوره پزشکی دانشگاه تهران قبول شد. سید اسداله جزو اولین گروه دانشجویان مدرسه پزشکی دانشگاه تهران بود و با مقام سوم در میان قبول شدگان قرار گرفت

Dr. Loghmanpour was born in 1912 in Esfahan to Seyed Ali and Maryam. He was the fourth child of the family with five brothers and a sister. Dr. Loghmanpour’s father, who was a respected physician in Esfahan, became a role model for him. He often went to his father’s office to learn about medicine. At the age of 12 years, Dr. Loghmanpour moved to Tehran to attend one of the most prestigious high schools in Iran, the Darol-fonoun, aspiring to one day become a physician. While in Tehran, he stayed with relatives of his father (who paid the family for Dr. Loghmanpour’s living expenses). While in high school, Dr. Loghmanpour also trained at a pharmacy school, and after finishing he took the entrance exam to attend the newly-founded medical school at the University of Tehran. He was one of the first students accepted to the university’s medical school, where he was ranked third among his peers.
بعد از اتمام دوره پزشکی از طرف محمد رضا شاه پهلوی به سمت وزیر بهداری شهر نیشابور در آمد و بعد از ان نایب ریس وزیر بهداری استان خراسان شد که بزرگترین استان ایران بود. در خراسان او ۴ بیمارستان در شهر های کوچک از جمله بیمارستان عطار در شهر نیشابور را بنیان گذاری کرد. در یکی از دیدار های شاه از نیشابور از وزیران استان خراسان و
شهر نیشابور پرسید که آیا همه چی در اختیار دارد که بتوانید کارتان را انجام بدهید؟ تمام وزرا از ترس اینکه مبادا شاه عصبانی بشود گفتند بلی همه چی فراهم هست ولی دکتر لقمان پور که علاقه داشت که بیمارستان هایش موفق باشند و با کمبود بودجه مواجه بودند به شاه گفت که کمبود بودجه دارد و بیمارستان ها وسایل کافی و پزشک کافی ندارند. در مدت ۳ ماه به دستور شاه همه چیز فراهم شد. بعد از بنیان گذاری چندین بیمارستان در استان خراسان دکتر لقمان پور به تهران آمد و در بیمارستان فارابی با پروفسور شمس که یکی از سر شناس ترین چشم پزشک های ایران بود شروع به خدمت کرد

After completing medical school, Dr. Loghmanpour was appointed by the Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, as Minister of Health for the city of Neyshabour in Khorasan province and later as Deputy Minister of Health for the entire Khorasan province, which was the largest province of Iran, covering nearly 20% of its territory. While in Khorasan, he founded four hospitals in small towns and rural areas including Attar Hospital in Neyshabour. Dr. Loghmanpour had a personal meeting with the Shah during one of the latter’s visits to the province, and informed him that the government had not appropriated adequate funding for hiring qualified medical staff and for purchasing the needed medical supplies and equipment for operating the new hospitals (a photograph of this encounter between the two great men became an heirloom of the Loghmanpour family, but was lost amid the tumult surrounding the Iranian Revolution in 1979). Within three months, the Shah delivered an adequate budget for Dr. Loghmanpour to operate the hospitals and meet the needs of the local people. After founding the hospitals in Khorasan, Dr. Loghmanpour returned to Tehran and started working with one of Iran’s great ophthalmologists, Doctor Shams, at the Farabi Clinic.
در سال ۱۹۵۰ میلادی (۱۳۲۹ هجری شمسی) دکتر لقمان پور به دانشگاه بردو در فرانسه رفت که تخصص خود را در عمل چشم و در گوش و حلق و بینی بگیرد. وقتی که بعد از دو سال به ایران بازگشت دکتر لقمان پور جزو چند دکتری بود که در ایران جراحی چشم میکرد. او به بیمارستان فارابی باز گشت و در سال ۱۹۶۵ میلادی (۱۳۴۴ هجری شمسی) باز نشست شد
در زمان باز نشستگی دکتر لقمان پور در یک کلینیک موقوفه که برای بیمار های کم درامد تاسیس شده بود خدمت کرد. در خیلی از موارد دکتر لقمان پور خدماتش را به رایگان انجام میداد و دارو های لازم را به رایگان در اختیار بیماران قرار میداد. دکترلقمان پور تا سال ١٩٨۷میلادی (١٣۶۶ هجری شمسی) که به امریکا مهاجرت کرد به خدماتش ادامه داد

In 1950, Dr. Loghmanpour went to France to obtain his specialty in eye surgery and ENT from the University of Bordeaux. When he returned to Iran in 1952, he was among a very small group of Iranians physicians who were eye surgery specialists, and practiced at the Farabi Clinic until he retired in 1965. During his retirement, Dr. Loghmanpour continued to work at a clinic for low-income people for whom the renowned clinics like Farabi were out of reach. In many cases, Dr. Loghmanpour offered both his services and the expensive medications without compensation. Dr. Loghmanpour continued providing medical services to the needy until he immigrated to the United States in 1987.
دکترلقمان پور علاقمند بود که در امریکا هم خدمات پزشکی رایگان خود را در اختیار مردم قرار دهد ولی با توجه به قوانین سخت و پچیده امریکا نتوانست این کار را انجام دهد و بیشتر وقت خود را به مطالعه و پیشرفت خود در زبان انگلیسی، نوشتن خاطراتش و گلکاری گذارند و همیشه یک راهنمای خوب برای فرزندانش بود.او پدری دلسوز و مهربان برای سهیلا، سهیل، سوسن، و سودابه و شوهری دلسوز و مهربان برای اکرم مهاجر و پدربزرگی مهربان برای ناتاشا لقمان پور و آرام زاده
بود. فرزندان دکتر لقمان پور برای ادامه تحصیل به امریکا آمدند و بعد از تحصیلات در رشته مهندسی و پزشکی مشغول به کار هستند. سوسن لقمان پور بعد از تمام کردن رشته مهندسی پزشکی به دانشکده پزشکی رفت و در رشته بیهوشی تخصص گرفت و اکنون در ایالت کالیفرنیا به کار مشغول است. دکتر سید اسداله لقمان پور بعد از چندین سال خدمت پزشکی به مردم ایران بویژه به مردم بی بضاعت ایران در ۱۱ دسامبر ۱۹۹۶ میلادی ( ۲۰ آذر ماه ۱۳۷۵ ) به دنبال مشکلات حاصل از یک سکته مغزی در کالیفرنیا از این دنیا چشم فرو بست

In the United States, Dr. Loghmanpour was determined to continue providing his services as a volunteer, but was unable to maneuver around the many restrictions and regulations in the health care industry. Instead, he spend much of his time studying and improving his proficiency in English, writing his memoirs, reading, gardening, and continuing to be a guiding light in his children’s lives.Throughout his medical career, Dr. Loghmanpour was a loving husband to Akram Mohajer and a dedicated and caring father to Soheila, Soheil, Susan, and Soudabeh, and a loving grandfather to Natasha Loghmanpour and Aram Zadeh. The three eldest children all became engineers; however Susan later entered medical school and became an anesthesiologist who practices in Southern California. Doctor Loghmanpour’s much-celebrated life ended on December 11, 1996 following complications from a stroke.
